Image credits: © Pedro Pina – RTP The dates for the Festival da Canção 2025, Portugal’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), have been announced, keeping with the usual time of year.
The first semi-final is scheduled for February 22, with the second semi-final set for March 1. As for the grand final, it will take place on March 8.
As has been the case since 2021, all three shows will be held at RTP studios in Lisbon. A few months ago, Santa Maria da Feira’s city council had expressed interest in hosting the event at Europarque in 2025, but that will not happen.
The format remains the same, with a total of 20 performers: each semi-final will feature ten participants, six of whom will advance to the grand final, where 12 contestants will take the stage again.
