Signs of hope surround Portugal’s participation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) 2024. And it’s not just the title of the song, but the song itself.
For the first time in history, the country is competing for the fourth consecutive edition. And is emerging as a potential contender for victory with Esperança, performed by Victoria Nicole. Notably, this is also the first time Portugal is entering a song featuring lyrics in both Portuguese and Spanish.

- Born in Venezuela, Victoria Nicole is 13 years old and moved to Portugal in 2018. She has been playing the piano for over five years and also plays the ukulele. One of her earliest memories is learning the lyrics to ABBA hits and singing them for her family. Her victory in the 2024 edition of The Voice Kids Portugal paved the way for her participation in the JESC.
