Jimmy Jansson and Thomas Stengaard are part of the team behind the Cyprus’s song for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023. Andrew Lambrou will be the singer, as had already been announced.
The broadcaster CyBC has now revealed the names of these two professionals as part of the group that created the song – which is already being recorded by Andrew Lambrou in Stockholm (Sweden).
Jimmy Jansson has written songs that have competed in several national finals, including Benidorm Fest, Melodi Grand Prix and Melodifestivalen. In 2020, his song Yes (performed by Ben & Tan) was chosen to represent Denmark at ESC before the event was cancelled due to the pandemic.
As for Thomas Stengaard, he is the co-writer of Only Teardrops, the ESC 2013 winner song for Denmark, sung by Emmelie de Forest. More recently, he was part of the team that wrote songs like You Let Me Walk Alone (Michael Schulte, Germany 2018) or Adrenalina (Senhit, San Marino 2021).
