The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025 will be held in Switzerland – the winning country this year with Nemo and the song The Code. In the coming months, one of the main topics of discussion will be the host city.
Shortly after the victory was confirmed, the city of Geneva officially submitted a bid. Basel, Saint Gallen, and Zurich also show some interest in bidding, although they have not done so formally yet.
The process of selecting the host city for the ESC is one that typically takes several months, and it will be no different with Switzerland. According to the newspaper Blick, the decision by the broadcaster SRG SSR is expected to be made only in September.
Out of the race is Lugano (which hosted the first edition in 1956), as it lacks the necessary infrastructure for such an event.
