Image credits: © Pedro Pina – RTP The authors for the Festival da Canção 2025, which will select Portugal’s representative for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in March, have now been announced.
Broadcaster RTP directly invited 14 songwriters, while the remaining six were chosen from an open submission process that received a total of 633 entries.
Some songwriters have already participated in the festival, including Emmy Curl (as Catarina Miranda in 2018), EU.CLIDES, and Fernando Daniel. Each songwriter may or may not perform their own song, a detail that will only be confirmed in the coming months.
The 2025 Festival da Canção will take place on February 22, March 1, and March 8 at RTP studios in Lisbon.
