The Luxembourg Song Contest 2025 auditions took place last weekend, on November 9 and 10. The contest will select Luxembourg’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025 on January 25.

A total of 53 artists took to the stage at broadcaster RTL, presenting around 80 different songs. Lyrics featured various languages: English, French, German, and Luxembourgish. A jury will now select 12 artists for the next phase, with the list of finalists set to be announced on November 18.

Participants represented 12 different nationalities, but all have a connection to Luxembourg or its cultural scene. David Gloesener, Eurovision director at RTL, commented:

– The shift in strategy, requiring artists to enter with their own songs, has made a difference. This year, three-quarters of the competing songs were co-written with Luxembourgish contributors”.
